I put in a request for quotes through Moving.com as they advertise repeatable companies BUT not even close. It started out well enough. Admiral provided a basic quote through email after some basic questions. I requested an in house quote which they kindly did and was very friendly. I have a wish I knew then what I know now kind of thing. So the mover asked if I wanted two trucks. I asked if he felt it would fit and be fine to which he said yes. I repeatedly asked via email what charges may be "hidden". He assured me that there were none. Fast forward to moving day. Four very unprofessional people show up. As they randomly walk around they will linger and text frequently. They paid no attention to box markings and started loading. Well, it became clear that more than one truck was needed. I was told this was my choice. I said yes based on the quoter's remarks of one truck being adequate. I had to run out and rent a uhaul. It was the biggest they had and they still couldn't fit. The foreman said to me "What stupid sh!t quoted this job?". Now there was a delay in the closing and I knew a couple hours would be added but the driver jacked it up by many additional hours and my stuff was held hostage. I was not given an explanation or a modified quote or anything. Just if you want your stuff to pay this amount or stuff will be taken away. My quote was left unsigned and no payment requirements were set. The laborers were more upset about getting home late that they unloaded in record time and once again paid no attention to box markings. Items were damaged and broke and missing as a result. They also played with my golf clubs. There were some last minute items I had not packed. They threw them in a roughneck garbage can with an expensive aquarium light, I could not find the stuff for days. What I found out after is this company and the parent company have a multitude of complaints against them and many involve fraudulent activities. They did not provide a signed quote. So now that I am more informed I started by asking for a refund of the hours that were not agreed to or even used. I was met with NO. File a claim which is ONLY for damaged items so what am I claiming there? I asked for an itemized final bill detailing the jacked-up charges there were things not agreed on or even told like fuel charges. I have also asked for a modified quote for the added hours presented and signed and of course, there was none but says the foreman left it in the house. That foreman NEVER went into my house. He cursed me out in front of my wife and kids and new neighbors as well. They never let me inspect the truck after the move was completed. They foreman drove up the street waiting for his guys as they begged for a tip. I go in to find that they did not put together furniture as they advertised. So now after much back and forth I am left with no other recourse but to file complaints, leave reviews and go to small claims court. DO your due diligence better then I did. So to reiterate.. Job was not properly quoted (low ball estimate). Not enough trucks to handle the job. Breaking of a binding estimate. Adding charges not outlined in the estimate and having my contents held until a modified payment was paid with no written explanation of new charges. No "bill of landing" was given or signed as far as I have. Quote does not mention the requirement of cash on delivery. I don't have a copy of anything signed quote to see if it was added. AND the in-home quote did NOT have COD checked off as required payment but yet I was told when the truck arrived and my stuff was held, hostage.

I moved from Brooklyn, New York to Miami, Florida with Admiral Van Lines and the entire experience was perfect. My quote for a large bedroom and personal objects was $1600 and that was exactly what I had paid. We had arranged for them to be at my place in NY by 8:00 a.m. and by 8:00, they were already outside my apartment, asking what to take/do first etc. All of them worked quickly and didn't procrastinate loading the furniture or taking any prolonged or unnecessary breaks. They told me that my stuff would arrive within 7 days and by the time I was in Florida, they arrived with my stuff, having taken them only 5 days. After quickly unloading and unpacking everything, I checked to make sure everything was there and it was all there..in perfect condition! Nothing damaged, broken, stolen, missing, dirty, wet, etc.  I highly recommend Admiral Van Lines because they are very honest, spot-on, and fair regarding the quote vs how much you pay; all of my items had arrived in the same shape as they had left; the workers are very efficient and on time; and everyone who helped me move was friendly. If I need to move again, I am definitely going to use Admiral Van Lines.

I had the worst moving experience and had an estimate of $400. They never said there would be tolls I had to pay. And I am 30 mins from Bayonne and charged me $150 for tolls on top. I had a small two bedroom apartment and they tried having me pay double then what they said. As well as damanged all my walls, steps, and railing. As well as my dresser and table that I had to throw out it was so damanged. They didn't say anything to me. I would never reccommend this service to friends or family. Very rude and a rip off!! There are so many other trust worthy companies.

I would like to share my moving experience.When we need to move in December, I started look for the moving company. I did my "homework" - research for the best moving companies in our area, read reviews, check rates, etc. Finally, friend of mine recommend us movers who relocated her parents, Admiral Van Lines. Parents were extremely satisfied with that moving company. We contacted Admirals via email, got a quote, set up a moving date. When the "big day" came, I was very nervous, so many things went trough my mind: what if movers didn't show up, what if they will break our furniture, what..But moving for us became a pleasant surprise. Movers came on time, even 15 minutes earlier. It was a crew of 3 people, driver/foreman & 2 helpers. They were really professionals and hardworking guys. They dissemble furniture, covered it with blankets. When we arrived to new house, they quickly unloaded stuff from the truck, assemble furniture, put on the spots which we pointed. Our basement wasn't finish after the renovation, so, movers accurately put stuff in the garage. Whole move took 8 hours.My husband and I were so satisfied, that we tipped movers by $150, even they didn't ask for it. Highly, highly recommend Admiral Van Lines. Great moving company. Personal is pleasure to work with. Pick up and drop off was on time, the movers are fast and  professional. The pricing is reasonable. All the goods were delivered carefully wraped, without any damage and haddled with extreme care. I would definately use the service again. Thank you!

Has a representative come out to our house prior to moving and received a WRITTEN quote. On moving day, after half of our belongings were on their truck, they told us it would be double the price! After negotiations, they shaved $100 off the new price. We were in a pinch obviously so ended up paying them. Our move was less than 1 minute around the corner and they insisted on wrapping everything which ruined our furniture! They completely took advantage of us! Called the representative numerous times who gave initial quote and he never responded! Please do not use this company!!

We sold our home in NJ but didn't leave for Florida until 4 months later so we had to store our belongings. Storage was very reasonable.

From the initial meeting with the person who came to the house to give us an estimate to the delivery in Florida we couldn't have been more pleased.

There wasn't a single item damaged even a little. Every item was delivered exactly as it was picked up from our home.

We've never moved so we didn't know what to expect but this company made our experience seamless and completely stress free. They showed up for pick up and delivery exactly when we were told they would, were extremely professional, friendly and polite.

We can't thank the teams enough.

Recently reviewed and ripped into them badly. After calming down I felt it appropriate to add the following- no damage was done to my furniture,I saved about $1000, 3 of the the 4 movers were good workers. My main problem was the lead mover who wanted to do everything his way and, as said in previous review, was a big time bully. Was it a frustrating move-yes, but it could have been much worse. You never know what another mover would have done. Just be careful and get all info up front and in writing.

They lost my daughters Eddie Bauer car seat which cost $119.99 at Target. They said its $50-$60 at Walmart I looked it up at Walmart and it was even more expensive at Walmart believe it or not. They did not want to compensate me for the loss of my daughters car seat and offered me $50-$60 then he increased to $90 and said there's nothing more he can do. $120 seemed like a stretch for them he said "so what we lost it it's based on the weight .60 per pound etc and said its like buying a car it loses value once u use it. he said our car seat wasn't brand new and he said its not worth $120 anymore. Maria is in charge of loss damage refunds. She hands phone to this guy who speaks terrible English. Very arrogant unprofessional and not helpful. We ended up agreeing on $105 because $120 he says was too much. It was their fault how do you lose a car seat and expect to pay back with half of what it's worth? They don't care about my daughters safety at all! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I was not disappointed for moving with this company, although I was little hesitant initially because I do not move that often. The guys show up 5 minutes before the scheduled time and asked if they need to change shoes in my house. They were very polite and efficient. For all intents and purposes I was completely satisfied. Even my wife who was very nervous before and conveyed this feeling to me was happy. I wound up giving them tips (they were 3 guys) because they earned it. They moved my 3 bedroom apt into house for the time that was promised during estimation. I paid $850.00 for all services.

Insisted on making appt for 8am when they call at 8am to say not coming till 10am. Everything was moved but for the fact extremely messy packing job let alone leave used packing materials behind. Insisted on cash payment when you advertise take all forms of payment. And tell you a quoted price but your actual price will end being doubled cause they add on multiple expenses. Also demanded a "tip". Overall unprofessional attitude. Highly do not recommend this moving company. Oh and they speak broken English you can bearly understand.

I used Admiral Van Lines to move from New York to Massachusetts and I highly recommend using this company! They were very professional from the moment I called to discuss a quote, the details, etc. to the moment they left after having completed the move. The quote and the final price matched up and they took care of everything. The movers were on time, very professional and helpful, and made sure to take care of my furniture; it was all carefully handled and unloaded in the same condition as everything was loaded in. They really made this rather exhausting move much, much easier on my part and made sure I wouldn't have anything to take care of or worry about. If I have to move again, I will most definitely use them again. 5/5.

I used them to move but never again will I go with them. I had a guy from their company come and give me a quote, I was charged double the price at the end of my move. The guys drank alcohol during my move, damaged my furniture. Wasted time so more hours could be charged at the end of the move. I was harassed for a tip to be made and all payment had to be in cash. When I tried calling the guy who I spoke with on the phone no one answered my call or even replied to my messages. These are Russian guys who hustle you for money. Very unprofessional company and employees.

First things first No matter what anyone says I am not paid to review this company. I used this company on 1/26/2015 to move my STUDIO apartment 25 miles accross Long Island with NO TOLLS. The quote I received was $375, which for such a small move made sense. There were good aspects to this move and bad aspects, so please read before using them. 1. Before agreeing to work with them, I asked if the crew came from Jersey which is where they are located, or Long Island, which is where I lived. The salesman told me they come from Long Island, which was a lie because the driver came from Jersey and charged me tolls for his travel. The tolls were INFLATED beyond belief to $68. I know that's not how much it costs, but they wouldn't budge. 2. They quoted me at $375, which never mentioned all these small little fees I would have to pay. So YES there are HIDDEN charges. 3. The movers were scheduled for 8am, arrived at 10am. No one ever called me, I had to call them twice before getting an answer as to where they were. 4. Once they came, I must say the crew was VERY nice and handled our furniture, boxes etc. with care. The crew chief kept saying there was no extra charge for blankets and that he'd tell me when there would be an extra charge. Of course they didn't tell me. They wrapped my furniture and hit me with a $91 material charge for wrapping it. Obviously another INFLATED number. 5. Once we left my storage unit to drive to my new apartment, they went to get coffee. I made it from the unit to my new apartment in 35 minutes. It took them (2) hours which I was billed for. Another way for them to inflate the charge. The driver kept mentioning accidents which was ridiculous because I had just made the trip myself. All in all, this is a SAD way to do business. If this company was honest and upfront they would be an awesome company. Their crew was extremely nice, but they lie to you all the time about the most ridiculous things. As if I don't know how much it really costs to buy a roll of wrap and some tape/boxes. Or as if I don't know how much it costs in tolls to get from Jersey to New York. My advice. Whatever they quote you at DOUBLE the quote and that's what you will probably pay. They handle your furniture with care and are nice and put things where you want them. Use at your own risk.

I used services from this company 3 times for the last 12 years, and my last move was just 2 days ago. I'm trying to recall what wasn't right and I can't. Everything from calling to the company to order service till saying thanks to the movers after job was done was outstanding. As all previous times, watching guys working, I had no doubts, that everything is going to be ok. For the time since my last move 12 years ago, the quality hasn't changed a bit, and it says a lot. Would definately recommend this company.

I must admit that I often do not take the time to write a review when a company has done a good job. That is not the case with Admiral Van Lines  and Alex, Sam and Andrew - they did an absolutely EXCELLENT job during my recent move. I have moved 6 times in the last 7 years, and these guys hands down made my moving day - easy, stress-free and enjoyable (yes, an enjoyable move day). I received several pre-move coordination emails from Jon. The crew arrived on time on move day and was professional, courtesy and flexible the entire move. From efficient packing of the truck to protecting all valuables - everything arrived undamaged and in the correct room(s). I wish there was an option for a bonus star as I would certainly award it in this case. If you are ever considering a move - save yourself the time and hassle - just book with Admiral Van Lines  and you like me will be awarding them a 5-star review! Thanks Guys!

These guys moved me 2 days ago from New Jersey to Brooklyn. I was stressed out for the last few weeks, but when the movers arrived, I completely forgot about that feeling. Everybody in their team knew exactly what needs to be done. It took me only one time to explain to the forman what I need. They estimated job for 9 hours, and it came to 10, which is within any limits, as well as I paid only 10% more for the bill, compare to estimate, that is much better, than I expected. I would definately use this company again, if I need in the future, and also recommend to others.

I had to move my daughter from one residence in New Jersey to another residence in New Jersey and Andy of Admiral Van Lines provided excellent customer service and great movers. The movers were professional, courteous, efficient, and quick. They took great care with all of our furniture and fragile items. They wrapped everything securely and nothing was damaged. I highly recommend them for your moving needs. The base rate was $375.00, after tolls and additional boxes, it was $509.00.

I recently moved from Brooklyn to Jersey City. The movers were professional -
no standing around, etc. They were efficient in packing everything (kind of miraculous to see how quickly movers pack something compared to the common person) and were careful when loading / unloading. Quote was similar to final price. I did a ton of research beforehand and was very happy with my choice. Overall as good an experience as moving can be, helped make moving suck a little less.

We moved from Bayonne to Livingston, but our apartment wasn't ready,so we needs to use a storage in transit. After some research ( we did our homework), we choose Admiral Van Lines, because they have a storage & looks reliable. They did a great job! Crew of 3 people came on time, packed our staff very carefully & professional and put everything into their storage for 3 months. We've been completely satisfied with their job but waiting to put a review until we'll get our belongings into the new apartment. Finally, our apartment was ready,& we contacted movers to set up a moving day. Our furniture came in great condition, movers assembled it, took garbage away, everything was on time & neatly done. I would consider Admiral Van Lines as a high professional company with reasonable rates. Highly, highly recommend them!
